Buffalo, NY, May 2024 – The Philadelphia Fire Department (PFD) has selected Buffalo-based tech firm 3AM Innovations to elevate their incident management and personnel accountability. Under the terms of the five-year agreement, the PFD will integrate 3AM’s decision support software platform, FLORIAN®, into their operations.
Philadelphia will become the first major US city to fully deploy smartphone technology alongside portable radios to support its fire department during all phases and all hazards. Through the collaboration with 3AM Innovations every PFD operator will be equipped with a connected phone. Delivering location and route insights directly to their commander during an incident. This real-time location capability, along with geofencing, route mapping, and automated alerting, can significantly reduce time-to-care in life-saving scenarios.
FLORIAN was purpose built for the public safety sector. Its features include automated personnel location (including height), automated vehicle location, structure insights, and advanced 3D mapping. Using this decision support software, incident commanders can also verify hydrant status before arrival, communicate with their teams, monitor emergency vehicles, and deploy resources. With the multiple streams of information viewable on a single customizable screen. Therefore, facilitating data informed decision-making and coordination. Integrating FLORIAN will help enhance response efficiency, streamline incident management, and bolster on-site safety for PFD.
The Philadelphia Fire Department has already leveraged FLORIAN’s capabilities during planned events. Notably, during the annual Broad Street Run. Equipped with location devices, PFD adapted their responses to medical incidents and hazards throughout. Demonstrating FLORIAN’s versatility and effectiveness in fast-paced operational environments.
